Slow-motion video spins have taken over weddings and corporate events. Here's how a 360° photo booth works, how much space it needs and how to get the best from it.
If you have scrolled through social media after a wedding or a product launch lately, you have probably seen those dramatic slow-motion videos where the camera sweeps around a group of guests. That is a 360° photo booth, and it has quickly become one of the most requested attractions at UK events. Here is what to know before you book.
How a 360° Booth Works
Instead of a traditional enclosed booth, guests step onto a raised platform while a camera arm rotates around them. The footage is captured in seconds, edited on the spot into slow-motion or fast-forward clips, and shared with guests by QR code, text or email. Our Revolve 360° comes with an attendant who guides every group, so nobody has to figure out the technology themselves.
Space and Setup
A 360° booth needs more room than a classic photo booth. As a guide, allow roughly a three-by-three metre area, with a little extra clearance for the rotating arm and for guests to gather around. Ceiling height matters too, so tell us about low beams or marquee poles in advance.
You will also need a standard power socket nearby and a flat, stable surface. Most venues, marquees and function rooms are ideal, and we are happy to check the space with your venue ahead of time.
Ideas to Make It Memorable
The best 360° videos come from guests who have a plan. Here are a few ways to encourage them:
Weddings vs Corporate Events
At weddings, a 360° booth works best during the evening reception, when the energy is high and guests are ready to let loose. Couples love receiving a full gallery of clips afterwards as a keepsake.
For corporate events, branded overlays turn every video into free marketing. Product launches, awards evenings and Christmas parties all benefit, and guests tend to post their videos within minutes.
How Long to Book
Most clients book for two to four hours. As a rule of thumb, each video takes about a minute from start to finish, so a three-hour booking comfortably entertains a large guest list without long queues. For events over 150 guests, consider a longer slot or pairing the 360° booth with a second attraction such as one of our classic booths.
Pairing It With Other Entertainment
A 360° booth is a star attraction, but it works even better as part of a mix. Many of our clients combine it with garden games for the daytime and a retro gaming lounge for the evening, so there is something for every guest throughout the event.
